In sneakers and boots, never. The heel sits comfortably in place and doesn't slip out of the shoe or have a noticeable appearance.
In dress shoes however, this is where you need to be reasonable. 3.5cm insoles will be noticable in a low cut dress shoe, so this is something to mindful of. However, we strongly recommend the 1.5cm option for dress shoes as the heel will sit perfectly at this height option; maintaining a fully hidden look, a subtle height boost and a comfortable feel.
1.5cm (0.6in) — undetectable in any shoe, including dress shoes. Start here if you're unsure.
2.5cm (1.0in) — the one most men pick. Invisible in sneakers and boots.
3.5cm (1.4in) — our maximum. Best for sneakers similar to air force 1s, boots and high-tops. The maximum height boost attainable.
